Best Instagram Hashtags Generators & Strategies for 2023

Update: Best Hashtags Generator for Instagram

Instagram hashtags generator

I’ve been testing this really cool tool for generating the best hashtags tailored for each Instagram account, and I figured it would make a great addition to this article. It’s called MetaHashtags.Com and offers 3 great features that I find really powerful:

  1. Hashtags Generator
  2. Banned Hashtags Checker
  3. Hashtags Tracker

This tool will give you data on a hashtag’s number of posts, posts per hour, average likes, lowest likes, and average comments. To use this tool effectively, you’ll first need to enter a general hashtag in your niche. It will then generate related hashtags in your niche with the data mentioned above.

Now you want to pick and use as many hashtags that you can easily rank for. To do that, check the average number of likes that you normally get on your account and pick mostly the hashtags that average the same number of likes.

There are plenty of other ways that you can use this tool to your advantage, but we’ll cover those in future articles.

Do hashtags help on Instagram?

I’ll answer that question with a simple screenshot of a post on an Instagram account with only 15K followers but managed to get 71K likes with 780K reach:

We’re going to use a unique Instagram strategy to boost your reach and hopefully get you more followers the organic way. You see, many of us have become too accustomed to Instagram automation that we rarely attempt to grow our following using organic means.

I find that using hashtags effectively is one of the best strategies to organically grow a following on Instagram. We’ve already discussed hashtags strategies on Instagram in a previous article but this strategy is much easier to work with and I find it more effective.

How do you use hashtags effectively?

We need to find our average likes on Instagram. I suggest going with the average likes of your last 10 posts.

PS: Ingramer is a great tool for analyzing Instagram profiles for free. Go to Ingramer.com >> Tools >> Profile Analyzer, type in your username, and hit Analyze.

Every hashtag on Instagram has a total post count. This hashtag strategy involves picking hashtags based on the post count in order to systematically rank your posts. Pick hashtags related to your niche and run each one of them through the Instagram search to see their post count.

Alternatively, there are tools you can use to quicken that process. Two of my favorites are Ingramer and Flick.tech.

So, you’re going to sum up the total number of likes in the last 10 posts on your Instagram account and divide it by 10 to get the average likes. Since Instagram allows us to use up to 30 hashtags on a single post, we’ll you all 30. You can now match your average likes with one of the following 3 categories of hashtags post counts:

0 – 500 average post likes

  • 1k – 5k posts count – pick 4 hashtags
  • 5k – 10k posts count – pick 8 hashtags
  • 10k – 50k posts count – pick 7 hashtags
  • 50k – 100k posts count – pick 6 hashtags
  • 100k – 500k posts count – pick 4 hashtags
  • 500k+ posts count – pick 1 hashtags

500 – 2000 average post likes

  • 1k – 5k posts count – pick 3 hashtags
  • 5k – 10k posts count – pick 7 hashtags
  • 10k – 50k posts count – pick 7 hashtags
  • 50k – 100k posts count – pick 5 hashtags
  • 100k – 500k posts count – pick 5 hashtags
  • 500k+ posts count – pick 3 hashtags

2000 – 5000 average post likes

  • 1k – 5k posts count – pick 2 hashtags
  • 5k – 10k posts count – pick 6 hashtags
  • 10k – 50k posts count – pick 7 hashtags
  • 50k – 100k posts count – pick 6 hashtags
  • 100k – 500k posts count – pick 6 hashtags
  • 500k+ posts count – pick 3 hashtags

It’s recommended to use different hashtags on different posts, and I think it’s a great idea to create a spreadsheet of hashtags if you’re not going to use the tools I’ve mentioned above.
